Marcia Ann Sullivan

Books, tea, cats, baking and cooking, and so much more is what I think of when I think of her. But mostly books. We were poor but we always had books. And in her later years she would go every year on the last day of school to a local elementary school that had little funding, bringing piles and piles of books so the kids could take books home for the summer. She called it “Wardrobe Books” from The Chronicles of Narnia one of her favorite series – that and the True Blood series. She had varying interests!

She literally bribed me to read at eight. Years later she never once told me to turn my light out and go to sleep as I stayed up all night revisiting Avonlea or Narnia or Rivendell again and again.

And she was so, so strong. I watched her battle cancer for years. And for her I will tell everyone I meet – get screened for colon cancer no matter your age!

Her amazing cookbook you can see here. And coming soon I will demonstrate how to make her rolls though I cannot make them like she did!

I found this picture recently and just loved it so much! Total Wicked Witch vibes!
